Getting the Artist in Focus

Until you get behind the lens, the mic, the mixing board--get your hands dirty in the creative process--you may find it tough to fully grasp the work that goes into making art.  A photo is more than just an image, it is a composition.  A photographer slaves in the black hole of a dark room, elbow-deep in chemicals to deliver their message to the world.  In the same way, a film is more than just actors and bright lights, it is a collaboration.  I want to illuminate more than just what shows up on the surface.  I want to  acknowledge the people that really make movies happen: cinematographers, designers, technicians.  These people form the guts that keep a body of work in motion.
